Linda starts her own proofreading business
Linda Dippanaar joined our proofreading course as a beginner - and has now started her own business.
And she started getting work just weeks after receiving her course diploma.
Linda said: "I loved the course. You can work at your own pace and they are always available if you are not sure of anything. Cleland is terrific, he takes such a personal interest in his students.
"This training is for 'grown-up' people - you need to put in the effort if you want the results. It is very practical, you simply have to practice!
"After working in banking for 29 years I decided to work from home and I came across proofreading as an option.
"I got my first work on-line at a site called Elance. I also do other projects for clients through Elance.
"After I received my CTJT Diploma I started contacting local firms.
"At the end of the course they give you great tips on how to find work. Two weeks ago I got a freelance contract from a local University, I was so excited!
"My first assignment from them is on the way. I can't wait! The rate they are offering me is excellent.

A 10 per cent improvement in our NCTJ exam results
Our students have achieved a great set results in the recent National Council for the Training of Journalists exams.
Their overall results in the May 2008 session were 10 per cent up on the last sitting.
They achieved an overall success rate of 76 per cent, compared with 66 per cent in November 2007.
They also achieved a 100 per cent pass rate in two subjects - General Law and Local Government. And the 75 per cent pass rate in the News Writing exam was our best-ever.
